This week, I had the absolute privilege to be one of the selected delegates at the 2nd Korea-Australia Future Youth Forum and the 4th Korea-Australia Future Forum in Sydney. ๐ฐ๐ท๐ญ๐ฒ
It was a personally meaningful milestone to participate in Track 1.5 diplomacy, as I first came to Australia in 2022 to pursue my degree.ย
Yesterday, at the Future Youth Forum, I was invited to speak along withย Dylan Goh, moderated byย Pippa Dickson PhD, on the topic of โHow can Australia and Korea collaborate through AI-driven digital content to enhance storytelling, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections?โ I proposed that Korea and Australia could collaborate to develop AI tools that enable context-awareness.ย The AI-powered translation model can account for the formality level and retain nuance, especially for idioms, metaphors, and culturally specific humour or emotion, especially with Korean. I argued that if AI could help reduce the language barrier, we'd see more content that could become popular, as evidenced by the recent K-phenomenon with Netflix's "K-pop Demon Hunters", or even more.
Today, at the Future Forum, I have gathered many professionals who are deeply interested in Korea-Australia relations, primarily in four areas: Strategic and Security Cooperation, Innovation and Critical Technology Cooperation, Economic Cooperation, and People-to-People Links โ including Arts and Culture.
I would like to thankย The Korea Foundation,ย Australia-Korea Foundation ํธํ์ฌ๋จ, andย Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Tradeย providing me with this tremendous opportunity.
